Catharine Carlene Henry Lunde Davis, 94, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2022, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Viewing will be held this Thursday from 3-5 p.m. at the Lakeview Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4, 2022, at the Lakeview Funeral Home with Pastor Dick Hege officiating. Burial will follow at the Pack River Cemetery.

Carlene was born July 30, 1928, in Los Animas, Colorado to James Claude Henry and Lola Gladys Harmon Henry. The first born of seven children, Carlene was close to her younger siblings even when she lived several states away and helped plan annual family reunions.

On January 3,1946, Carlene married Charles H. (Chuck) Lunde in St. Francis, Kansas. After Chuck finished his naval service, they returned to Denver to raise their five children, that included two sets of twins.

Contributing to the family income, Carlene enjoyed working a variety of positions including cleaning newly constructed homes with a group of ladies who became friends, candling eggs, and finishing touches and coloration in a photography studio.

Widowed in January of 1964, she moved her family to Sandpoint, Idaho, where her parents had moved years before, and rented her sister’s house on Rapid Lightning Creek Road.

Carlene finished raising her children and married Earl R. (Robert) Davis Jr. on July 10, 1966. Together, they completed the home Robert had been building for several years and made it their home until Robert passed away June 1988.

Widowed twice, Carlene’s faith and personal strength helped her through the loss. She loved to study her Bible, crochet beautiful afghans, and voraciously studied vitamin therapy. She also loved to take photos of the family, her dogs, Tyke and Mikey, and sunsets. Carlene attended annual Bible conferences and kept in touch with old friends. Her life centered around her children and grandchildren and fun girls’ trips with her sister, Esther.

Carlene was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Lola Henry; brothers, Jim, Tom, Johnny, and Danny; sisters, Esther, and Kathy; son, Ronald D. Lunde; one grandson, one granddaughter, and one great-grandson.

Carlene is survived by her children, Dale E. Lunde, Kenneth W. (Celeste) Lunde, Donald G. (Teresa) Lunde and daughter, Linda L. Norlen; 14 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren, with two more on the way.
