Richard (Dick) Creed Seney, 80

| November 3, 2022 1:00 AM

Richard (Dick) Creed Seney, 80, who just moved from Cocolalla Lake, Idaho, this summer, passed away suddenly while sitting at his computer on Oct. 14, 2022. He joined his wife, Bea Seney, who had preceded him to heaven just seven days before.

Dick was born in San Diego, Calif., on March 26, 1942. His parents divorced when he was three, and he lived with his father, in Tacoma, Wash. He worked alongside his father, raising hound dogs to hunt and competing in jumping horses. In high school, he learned to repair airplanes. He continued using this skill in the Army where he served as a helicopter mechanic from 1961 to 1964. He continued working in the aircraft industry for Pacific Southwest Airlines and Boeing.

In 1965, he trusted Jesus as his Savior while attending a Billy Graham Crusade. In 1970, he married Beatrice Snyder. He also changed professions during this time, working in computer operations. He worked for various banks, health insurance companies, state and county governments, but always doing the same type of work, which was running mainframe computers.

In 2007, he retired and was able to help full-time in the ministry of Cocolalla Lake Bible Camp. For the last couple of years, he cared for his wife with her many health needs, fulfilling his commitment to love her in sickness and health.

He was many things, but most of all he was an example of the heavenly Father to his sons and grandchildren. His wife, father, Robert, and mother, Mary, preceded him in death. Survivors include his son, John of Greenville, S.C.; son Aaron of Bakersfield, Calif.; and three grandchildren, Jonathan, Stacie and Josiah.

There will be a memorial service for Dick and Bea Seney at New Song Bible Church on Dec. 17, 2022 at 3 p.m.
