This election, vote for democracy

| November 4, 2022 1:00 AM

Everyone is worried about the economy and inflation, which will always go up and down. Gas prices are regulated by OPEC and the big gas companies, not the president. Giant corporations are gouging us by raising prices on groceries and other goods, all while making record profits. Big Pharma is doing the same. We, and the world, are still recovering from a pandemic which crushed the supply chain.

What is really on the line is our democracy. The Supreme Court has taken away the rights of women, reduced us to second-class citizens, and giving those of child-bearing age a death sentence. The Republican states are trying to imprison doctors who dare to uphold their oath and provide medical care. They want to take away our privacy and have our medical records be public. They have taken away certain medications from us all because they might cause a miscarriage or an overdose in some.

Republicans and the court want to take away the right to same sex and interracial marriage, the right to use contraception, and what you do in your own bedroom. The Republicans even want to end Social Security and Medicare, and maybe veterans benefits. What will you do if you rely on those to live?

Do your own research and find the true facts, and then vote. This is probably the most important election our country has had in a long time. I am voting for democracy above all else. Without that, nothing else will matter.
