Schmidt to speak at NAMI meeting

Nancy Schmidt will be the featured speaker at this month's NAMI Far North Idaho meeting.

The meeting, set for Nov. 16, will be held at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall, 1325 Pine St., Sandpoint.

Schmidt will speak at 5:30 p.m. She has been involved with health and wellness promotion in a broad variety of settings for over 30 years.

Schmidt is the northern regional coordinator for Idaho Lives Project and works with school districts and their respective communities assisting in the development of "upstream" suicide prevention programs. She will share her experiences in the trenches of the Idaho school systems, with addiction and recovery, and answer questions about mental wellness.

Following the program, support groups will meet from 6:30-8 p.m.

All are welcome. If you are living with mental illness, are a family member or are a friend of someone with mental illness, this meeting is for everyone.
