Ali Knowles, a freshman at Sandpoint High School, has been selected to represent America’s Team in softball.

Knowles said she loves the sport and was excited to be invited to be on the team.

“I love working hard because then I get to earn my spot,” Knowles said about what she loves most about softball.

Knowles will be playing in Spain next summer and is looking for sponsors or donations to help her fund the trip. Some of these costs include: airfare, hotel, meals and tournament entry fees.

“I’m really excited. Every day I’m like, I’m going to be in Spain next year,” she added.

The 14-year-old is one of only a handful of youngsters who have been invited to the team, which is composed of high schoolers age 13-18. Knowles was selected after an Eastern Oregon softball coach saw a video of her on the NCSA collegiate recruiting website and reached out regarding the America’s Team.

If you would like to donate, you can do so through the Venmo app. @Kelli-Knowles or by going to https://verticalraise.com/fundraiser/ali-knowles-team-usa-softball-fundraiser-2023.

Knowles is looking forward to representing her country and hometown of Sandpoint.
