Nov. 13, 1972 – NEWS FROM LACLEDE
Mrs. Morris Moore, Mrs. Frankie Kurtz, Neta Belwood and Mrs. Robert McCracken are attending night school at Newport on Monday nights.
Mrs. A.M. Glazier went to Bellevue, Wash., last week with her daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Emerson, where she spent a week, also visiting the home of her son, the Gerald Glaziers. She made her first airplane trip when she came back to Spokane. Another daughter, Mrs. Cliff Ritz, and Roxanne, Sherri and Brad, brought her home Saturday.

KOTCSHEVAR AT FT. WRIGHT COLLEGE
Kris Kotschevar, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Kotschevar, 436 Huron, Sandpoint, is attending Fort Wright College as a freshman. Miss Kotschevar, a 1972 SHS graduate, is majoring in mathematics.

PASTOR AND MRS. KINNE HONORED
A reception was held Sunday by members and friends of the Lakeview Bible Chapel, Hope, in honor of Pastor Dave Kinne and Mrs. Kinne. Pastor Kinne, formerly a Calvary Baptist Church member in Sandpoint, was recently called to pastor the church in Hope. Music by Arlene Yeakel and the Martin Lowell family was enjoyed, after which Pastor Lowell, of Sandpoint Calvary Baptist Church, gave a message in which the charge of the Lakeview Bible Chapel was presented to Pastor Kinne. A cake in the form of an open Bible added to the occasion.

Nov. 13, 1922 – DUES WILL BE REDUCED
In a short business session in council chambers at city hall, the Civic club voted to reduce dues from $2 per year to $1. A membership drive is soon to be undertaken and it was voted that memberships gained should be in good standing until January 1, 1924, upon payment of one year’s dues.

OVER 1000 ATTEND SEED POTATO SHOW
Bonner county’s third annual seed potato show was held in the recently completed Rowlands building at First and Church on Friday and Saturday. The show was up to the standard set by the two previous shows and attracted more than 1000 visitors. The spuds exhibited were of excellent quality and scored high.

CITY BREVITIES
Another unit of the Theodore Roosevelt International highway, which passes through Sandpoint, is being constructed this fall for four and one-half miles east from Moyie Springs, near Bonners Ferry. It is planned that by 1924 the highway shall be completed from Portland, Me., to Portland, Ore.
Elk Charity Circus and Carnival Thursday and Friday afternoon and night.
Leo Johnson, clerk at Martin’s grocery, lost the tip of his right index finger Monday when he got it caught in the gear of the store’s electric coffee grinder. “It’s all right,” said Johnson later, “I took the coffee myself.”
