SANDPOINT — Bonner County commissioners met Tuesday for a shorter-than-usual business meeting.

After the approval of numerous liquor licenses, a rental payment by the Bonner County Sheriff’s Office, and three minor land divisions (MLDs 0040-22, 0060-22, and 0076-22) on the consent agenda, County Clerk Mike Rosedale brought the third batch of bills for FY 2023.

The county’s bills totaled about $1,009,500 and EMS’ bills came in under $33,000.

Human Resources’ Cindy Binkerd brought a motion for two seasonal positions and an administrative assistant for Road and Bridge, and for two advanced EMTs, a paramedic, and a basic EMT for EMS.

Commission Operations Manager Jessi Reinbold brought a motion to begin the process of replacing Joyce Hatcher on the board for Community Guardians. Hatcher stepped down after eight years in the post.

Emergency Management director Bob Howard brought a motion to accept funds from the state for the 2022 Emergency Management Performance Grant, totalling in at just over $37,000, contingent upon the county matching the funds. Howard also brought a motion asking the commissioners to appoint a grant administrator.

Howard also brought a motion to accept the 2022 State Homeland Security Grant for just over $72,000 without a county match. Again, he brought a motion asking for the appointment of a grant administrator.

Lastly, Reinbold brought forward a motion to appoint and/or reappoint five members to the West Snowmobile Advisory Committee.

All motions passed unanimously and each commissioner was present.

Next business meeting will be held at 9 a.m. in the third floor conference room at the Bonner County Administrative Building, 1500 U.S. 2, Sandpoint.
