Wampus Cats defeat GPrep in three sets

| October 7, 2022 1:00 AM

For the third time in three days, the Wampus Cats came away with the victory — this time defeating Genesis Prep at home Thursday, 25-16, 25-18, 25-22.

Clark Fork came out strong and kept control the entire game, staying focused in each of the three sets.

"A lot of the points came off of long rally sets which was really fun to watch and see," Clark Fork coach Michelle Valliere said. "It was great to see them fight to win a lot of those."

The only time the Wampus Cats faltered was in the third set, Valliere said. Clark Fork was up 9-1 but Genesis Prep kept chipping away pulling close before losing the set by three points.

Valliere said she is please by how well Clark Fork played against Genesis Prep, praising Sarah Bopp, Frederica Pacifico, Emily Myers and Eloise Shelton for their efforts.

"The girls did a pretty good job of looking for holes," she added.

Leading the Wampus Cats in digs was Lilly Reuter with 20. Paige Valliere led the team in serve assists, Sarah Bopp and Reuter each had three aces. Bopp also led Clark Fork in kills with 11.
