METHODISTS TO BUILD COMMUNITY HALL

Plans were developed Friday at a meeting of the Methodist congregation looking toward erecting a community hall that would serve as a gymnasium and recreation hall for young people, a banquet hall for the older persons, and a headquarters for two Boy Scout troops. The hall, a temporary structure to serve the purpose until the church’s larger plans are worked out, will be about 30x60 feet, of rough material, adjoining the church to the rear. There was much enthusiasm at the meeting, nearly all of those present voicing their support. Dr. Martin, who is promoting the plan, is an experienced athletic trainer, and proposes to give his services to the young people affiliated with the church.

BONNER CLAY MAKES FINE SOAP

A new Sandpoint industry has been started which has possibilities which probably few people here realize, and that is the manufacture of chemical cleansers and washing compounds by the Vapo Products company, in the building at the corner of Superior and Boyer. They now manufacture their “Natural Hand Cleanser,” based on bentonite, a natural clay found in this county, and a rug cleaner.
