Clark Fork earns three-set win
HARRISON FLATS — The Wampus Cats wrapped up a perfect North Star League campaign with a 25-8, 25-12, 25-8 victory over the host Warriors.
The Wampus Cats came ready to play and didn’t let playing a lower division team affect their energy or determination to win, coach Michelle Valliere said.
“I’m super happy with the girls and how they played,” she said.
Being able to hold a practice, something the team hadn’t been able to do because of their busy game schedule helped the team prepare for the game, Valliere said.
Paige Valliere had 29 assists and 10 aces to lead the Wampus Cats. Leading Clark Fork in kills was Amari Printz-Hay with seven, followed closely behind by Emily Myers, who had six kills. Myers and Lilly Reuter lead the Wampus Cats in digs with four each. Printz-Hay also had two blocks on the night to lead Clark Fork.
For Kootenai (0-14, 0-4 NSL), Kaylee Lupo had 18 digs and three assists, Keira Bohannon seven assists, Callie Smith 13 digs, Chloe Dorman five blocks, Callie Smith and Tuesday Glessner two aces each.
Kootenai will play Mullan on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at North Idaho College in the loser-out semifinal of the 1A Division II District 1 tournament. The winner plays Clark Fork (11-4, 4-0) in the championship match Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at NIC.
