Who are we and what do we stand for?
Its’s been tough lately coping with all the changes happening here. Between virus, smoke and exploding population, it’s hard to keep a cheery attitude. But I know I’m not alone. I depend on my community and I know that in our small town and county we look out for our neighbors. It’s a big part of why I’ve lived in Bonner County for 35 years.
I want my elected representatives to reflect this community’s values. When our elected representatives look at issues, I want them to put the needs of the community ahead of personal beliefs.
Steve Johnson is running as a write-in candidate for Idaho Senate. He represents our values. He has educated kids in this county for 42 years. He’s a business man and contributes through volunteering.
His opponent, Scott Herndon, doesn’t work with people, instead he uses extreme, destabilizing tactics (like getting the county to sue over guns at the Festival at Sandpoint, costing taxpayers over $200,000). He wants to defund public education and sell off public land. How is that going to help? No more education unless you want your kid to go to a private school? No more hunting or fishing to feed your family unless you own land?
We can do much better. Write in Steve Johnson (and fill in the bubble on the left) below Scott Herndon’s name. Vote for someone who thinks we should take care of each other.
