STC hosting back to school barbecue

The Sandpoint Teen Center will be back in action when school starts and will host its back-to-school barbecue on Sept 6.

The teen center provides nutritious snacks, hot meals, activities, homework help, teen mentorship and more every day after school following the school calendar. The center is open Monday through Friday, 2:30 p.m.-5 p.m., and opens early on Wednesdays at 1:30 p.m.

Teens must sign in and out each day and follow the center's "no nonsense" policy for respect at the facility.

Some activity highlights this year will be cooking classes, art projects, air hockey and bowling tournaments, and community service opportunities. Do you or your teen want us to add other activities or classes? Let center officials know.

The Sandpoint Teen Center is still searching for a permanent home within easy walking distance of Sandpoint middle and high schools on Division Avenue.
