Burklie Ann 'BJ' McIntire, 62

Burklie Ann “BJ” McIntire, 62, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022, in Sagle, Idaho.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022, at Southside Community Church, 251 Cocolalla Loop Road, in Cocolalla, Idaho.

BJ was born Dec. 28, 1959, in Grangeville, Idaho, to Desmond and June Smith. Her mother died at a young age and she grew up with her father in Lewiston, Idaho. She graduated from Sandpoint High School in the Class of 1978.

She attended North Idaho College and become a registered nurse. She worked for a doctor in Priest River and did some home health work. She also worked at Truby’s Health Food and IGA.

She married Lester McIntire on June 15, 2002, in Sagle. She was a member of Southside Community Church and A.A. She enjoyed walking and gardening. She was also artistic and enjoyed making jewelry.

She is survived by her husband, Les McIntire of Sagle; daughter Leslie (Kyle) Kiehn of Castle Rock, Colo.; son Frank (Whitney) Jachetta of Athol, Idaho; four grandchildren, Carter, Jackson and twins Easton and Reid; sister Dana Curtis of Point Richmond, Calif.; and brother John (Tess) Smith of Hollister, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter.
