PATIENT, NURSE, CITY POLICE TEAM UP
A patient in the offices of Drs. J.P. Munson and James Arthurs Wednesday noticed three men looking into cars in the office parking lot at 502 N. Second. He called them to the attention of Nurse Pearl Colhoff, who reported the trio’s actions to police. Chief George Elliot arrived to find the men had shifted their attention to cars on Alder St. near the hospital. Assisted by Idaho State Police Cpl. Gerald Johnson, Elliot took the trio in for questioning and after a daylong investigation, determined that the three were escapees wanted in Canada. They were booked into Bonner County Jail to await the arrival of Border Patrol officers, who later handed them over to Canadian authorities.

DOG FINDS ROBBERY SUSPECT
Gaining entrance by “jimmying” a rear window, a burglar Monday night robbed the cash register of $74 at the C.E. Anderson confectionery and flower shop. The robbery was discovered Tuesday morning and was at once reported to the officers. A search for finger prints was unavailing, but Sheriff Kirkpatrick’s bloodhound, “Major,” was given the scent at the box used by the burglar to reach the window, and followed the trail from this point to a local residence. The Sheriff has so far declined to state who his suspect is.
