SANDPOINT — Sandpoint celebrated Senior Night with a 5-0 win over Lakeland at War Memorial Field on Thursday.

Leading off the scoring was midfielder Lilly Carson who put the Bulldogs on the scoreboard first in the ninth minute.

Forward Kailee McNamee quickly followed with two goals of her own, adding back-to-back goals in the sixteenth and nineteenth minutes.

Carson followed with another goal in minute 25 to send the Bulldogs into the half with a 4-0 lead.

The Bulldogs capped their scoring with a goal by forward Elia Howard in minute 73.

Head coach Connor Baranski said he was pleased with the Bulldogs' performance but note there are things they can work on.

He said the girls’ defensive formation was solid but added their offensive formation began to lag as the game hit its final stretch.

"In a game like that I expect us to control the ball for 80 minutes,” Baranski said.

During the last half there were far less breakaways and the Bulldogs had some difficulty centering the ball, allowing themselves to be held to the side, Baranski said.

“They played good, but it could have been tighter," he said.

The Bulldogs next play Monday at Mead at 4 p.m.
