Bulldogs come up just short against Cd'A

COEUR d’ALENE — After dropping the first two sets, the Sandpoint Bulldogs battled back before falling to the Coeur d’Alene Vikings 25-13, 25-16, 17-25, 23-25, 15-12 in Inland Empire League volleyball play at Viking Court.
Viv Platte had 18 kills and three blocks for Sandpoint (1-5, 0-3 IEL). Haley Swaim had 38 assists, Aubree Lane 23 digs for the Bulldogs.
“I thought Sandpoint did a great job defensively,” Coeur d’Alene coach Carly Curtis said. “I thought their libero did a really good job, and I thought their outsides played well.”
Paisley Goings had 13 kills, 15 digs and three aces for Coeur d’Alene (10-0, 2-0 IEL), which played without injured hitter Madi Symons (shin splints).
Sandpoint plays host to Lake City on Tuesday.
