Evening of ‘Spiritual Journeys’ set
On Thursday, Sept. 29, the Gardenia Center will host a free panel based upon the backgrounds of three local people who have had experiences which some would call "beyond belief."
As these adventures are being lived in ever greater numbers of people of all faiths around the world, all religious thought and dogma are involved. The very fact of these continued developments tends to indicate a commonality within all humanity, organizers said.
In the Gardenia Center’s continuing commitment to bring unity to the varied religions by highlighting their commonalities this is being offered to the community free of charge. The panel will consist of Jenni Fallien, Mark Reiner, and Frytz Mor, all of whom have had experience and study with spiritual realities harmonizing with and elaborating upon the foundation of all religions. Each will share their experiences with their own teachers, called gurus, in the eastern traditions. In addition, their growth within a greater reality necessitated learning new approaches to spiritual development, and they will be happy to share what they have learned with the audience.
"It is difficult for Western minds to believe in so-called miracles without developing an inner sensitivity, especially since so much of normal life has appeared to go wrong," organizers said. "Without meditation, and a desire to purify both mind and heart people fail to use their own inner spiritual strength. Hoping and saying you will do better is not the same as proving it."
While many think meditation and yoga are part of Hindu or Buddhist religions, they are simply techniques which could, if utilized, enhance the understanding and experience of every religious person.
"They are like exercise and training for sports, except they train your sensitivity and awareness," organizers said. "If you have chosen to live a more spiritual life, then you have to take the responsibility for it."
