Song of Solomon vs Michelangelo’s David

| April 13, 2023 1:00 AM

A principal of a Florida charter school was forced to resign after parents of children in a classical art class complained about their kids being exposed to Michelangelo’s “David”.

Three parents complained, including one who described the masterpiece as pornographic.

Those who find Michelangelo’s “David” pornographic should read the “Song of Solomon” as found in the Old Testament.

If the “Song of Solomon” were in any book other than the Bible, those who are wallowing in conservative religious doctrine would have it banned in as many schools and libraries as possible.

Here are a few verses from the Song of Solomon:

I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste. 2:3

My beloved is mine, and I am his: he feedeth among the lilies. 2:16

Come ... blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out. Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his pleasant fruits. 4:16

Thy navel is like a round goblet, which wanteth not liquor: thy belly is like an heap of wheat set about with lilies. 7:2

I would cause thee to drink of spiced wine of the juice of my pomegranate. 8:2

If you can’t figure out what these verses are actually saying, then you really need to see a sex therapist.
