Richard 'Dick' Pedersen, 69

| April 14, 2023 1:00 AM

Richard “Dick” Pedersen Jr. passed away unexpectedly on March 25, 2023, at the age of 69.

Dick was born June 3, 1953, to Dick and Carol Pedersen of Hope, Idaho. He is survived by three siblings, Dale Alexander, Diane Brockus (Mike Rorman), and Deana Pedersen (Kerry Foresman). Also by two nephews, Bryan (Pam) Brockus and Aaron (Robyn) Brockus; along with a great-nephew, Brandon Brockus (Bella Delsman).

Throughout his life, Dick dabbled in various employment; many years as a truck driver in Alaska, on a fishing boat (which he hated because he did not like fish unless smoked) and finally settling back in Hope to be a self-employed logger. His likes were simple – the outdoors, hunting, a good meal and a few cold beers. He got immense pleasure of sneaking up behind someone and giving a gruff growl, totally scaring the recipient. Then he would laugh and walk away or possibly engage in brief conversation – usually him being called an SOB! More smiles from him.

Conversations with Dick were usually quite short, if you could get any at all. Once in a while, he’d open up and show his soft side. Conversation was usually logging and hunting topics, which he would go on about, with stories growing as he spoke. His group of friends was limited. If he liked you, you knew it, if not, your loss!

Those of us that remain are still feeling the loss and probably will for some time.

Graveside services will be announced at a later time.

Family and friends are invited to sign Dick’s online guestbook at www.coffeltfuneral.com.

Arrangements are under the care of Coffelt Funeral Service.
