Dot Egland, 88, has passed away after a short illness. She was raised on the banks of the Columbia River in Northport, Wash.

She met her future husband, Harold (Poncho), when he helped bring electricity to the area. They were together until his passing in 1992. She enjoyed the water and things that go fast. She started her banking career in Colville, Wash., before moving to Sandpoint in 1953.

Mom went to work for the Pack River Lumber Company in the mid-60s. After leaving, she went to work for First Federal Savings and Loan until her retirement.

She is survived by son Bryan and wife Sue, nephew Tanner and wife Cindy, nephew Taylor and current husband Mike.

At her request there will be no services.
