Stability, not change, on library board
Regarding the upcoming Bonner County Library Board election, some have argued that a change of leadership is needed. But I beg to differ. Given the strife that libraries across the state have experienced, including our own, we need stability, not change.
Susan Shea provides that stability as evidenced by her cooperative nature, keen wisdom of the library’s finances, and fiscal tightwadness.
I have lived in Idaho for 43 years, yet I am still considered an outsider. But I have learned that Idahoans treasure limited government. However, Shea’s opponent is a newcomer who has not yet acquired this nugget of wisdom and desires to use government intervention to restrict library materials and to penalize librarians who differ with her material selection.
The library is running quite well as it is, thanks to Susan Shea. We really do not need change. We don’t need government thought and morality police limiting access to library materials. Instead, we need parents to supervise their children in material selection, not the government.
A vote for Susan Shea ensures library stability and continued limited government intrusion into the lives of families.
Please vote for Susan Shea on May 16.
