BCRCC issues no-confidence vote for Sauter

The Bonner County Republican Central Committee issued a vote of no confidence Monday for freshman District 1 Rep. Mark Sauter, contending he failed to represent the party’s platform and principles during the legislative session.

In the announcement, BCRCC chairman Scott Herndon said Sauter’s voting habits do not align with the Republican party’s platform principles.

Sauter said he is not shocked by the announcement of this vote and will continue voting based on what is best for the people he represents regardless of committee endorsements.
