Working people and paying for public schools

As a retired public education teacher, I believe that Matyus and Debbie (Daily Bee letter, April 19, 2023) need to face the reality of why working people pay for public education.
It is not so that you can go play football or enjoy "enrichment" activities but to allow you to train to be productive and tax-paying members of society as we are...
