PETE WEATHERING BETTER IN SHADE

Pend Oreille Pete, Sandpoint’s famous wooden carved fisherman, has retired to the shade! He stood for years in front of the Kamloops Klub on the east side of First Avenue. Last fall, sculpturer-creator Russell Kotschevar made extensive repairs on Pete before repainting him, and then decided he ought to be protected from Mother Nature’s elements. With the permission of Leonard Haugse, Kotschevar moved Pete under the protective canopy in front of the Pastime Cafe and Sports Shop.
