Cochran honored as top chamber volunteer
Dr. Mark Cochran has been honored by the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce as its top volunteer for April.
A holistic chiropractor, Cochran was a member of the Leadership Sandpoint class of 2017.
In addition to his longtime work with the chamber, Cochran has been an active volunteer for the Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness since 2008 and has been referred to as an “uber volunteer” by executive director Phil Hough. According to Hough, Cochran can often be found tabling for FSPW at numerous events and has been an enthusiastic trail ambassador (affectionately known as a “mountain goat ambassador”) since the program’s inception in 2016.
"He is a key player in FSPW’s fundraising efforts and recently was instrumental in presenting the Wild and Scenic Film Festival at the Panida Theater," Hough said of the dedicated FSPW volunteer.
Cochran has been an FSPW board member for over three years and became board chair earlier this year. Along with Hough, he is co-leading a new endowment campaign for the Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness.
