WSU Master Gardeners offer nutrition class
The WSU Master Gardeners will host a class on what it means to eat a rainbow.
The nutrition class will be held Thursday, Aug. 10, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. In this class participants will learn about the fruits and vegetables from each color and how they offer a variety of important vitamins and nutrients that can prevent disease. The class will be taught by officials with SNAP-Ed (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-Education.)
It’s recommended that at mealtime to have plenty of colorful fruits and veggies in your diet. Participants will get hands-on experience on how to prepare foods that provide essential nutrition needs for themselves and family. Be sure to register right away. Seating is limited. The class fee is $5, ($3 for MGs), and can be paid by check, money order or through PayPal.
