Aug. 6, 1973 – 4-H YOUTH TO DALLAS
Members of the 4-H horse judging team who will compete in the week-long National Horse Judging contest in Dallas, Texas are Dan Lund, Jane Lund, Linda Woolsey, and Cathy Russell. The group earned second place in state competition in July. Dan Lund and Miss Russell are members of the Gold ‘n Grouse 4-H Club; Miss Woolsey and Miss Lund are members of the Pack River Saddlemates.

FREE ENGLISH RIDING LESSONS
For five years, two local horsewomen, Veldonna Osborn and Ardis Racicot, have given free English riding lessons Wednesday evenings at the Racicot arena [on N. Boyer] from the time school closes in the spring until early August. Their only requirement is that students “can remain on top of a horse.”

CLASS OF ’48 REUNION DREW 43
Forty-three members of the SHS Class of 1948 and their spouses enjoyed a 25-year reunion July 21-22. Awards presented to class members at Saturday’s banquet were: Gwen Neu McClelland, Frostproof, Fla., traveling the farthest; Don Johnson, Oden, classmate with the least hair; Jim Parsons Jr., Sandpoint, gaining the most weight since school days; Bill and Marlene O’Donnell, Dover, most grandchildren. Attending from out of town were Elmo Clark, Dick Grinolds, Bob Melton, Paul and Ina Loman, David and Marge Eckman, Dick and Doris Stockman, Bill Loman, Jim Perry, John and Louise Cochran, Bud Thompson, Bob Campbell, Benny and Carolyn Kircher, and Lyle and Ann Miller.

All lot owners who have not paid their 1948 care fees in Lakeview cemetery are asked to bring or send them to Mrs. H.L. Thomason, 601 Euclid.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Darling of Ogden, Utah, are the parents of a son, Lawrence George, born Aug. 2. Mr. and Mrs. L.G. Moon are now grandparents.

BOREN NEW MANAGER OF V.F.W. CLUB
Glen Boren will succeed Dan Dunnigan, who resigned last week as manager of the V.F.W. club.

BIRTHDAY PARTY
Nila Rae Pennington, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Pennington, entertained a few friends Friday with games in the yard and refreshments in honor of her seventh birthday. Guests were Merrilee and Anna Margaret Hohen, Michael McFarland, Ronnie Bergeron, Esther Helen Pennington, Betty McArthur, Karen Cox, Betty Jo Weaver, and Donny Magnuson.

NEW HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL
Sandpoint’s new high school principal, L.W. Haight, his wife and their three children, will arrive Aug. 10, and will make their home at 427 Huron. Mrs. Haight will be employed in the SHS commercial department. Mr. Haight succeeds Carl W. Warner as high school principal.
