Amanda LaRaine Inskeep-Hiatt, 44

| August 8, 2023 1:00 AM

Amanda LaRaine Inskeep-Hiatt, 44, of Surprise, Ariz., passed away July 26, 2023, at the home of her parents in Surprise, with family at her side, following a long illness.

Amanda was born July 29, 1978, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to David and Paulette Inskeep. She was the second of four children. She was raised in the Riverton/Blackfoot area, where she learned the values of family, faith, hard work and fun (not necessarily in that order).

She attended Blackfoot schools. After graduation, she left for Boston, where she was a nanny. She loved being in the big city. When she came back to Idaho, she went to work for Sun Valley Corporation. She started out in food and beverage, then moved quickly to management. She managed Warm Springs for two winters and loved it.

She then went on to attend Idaho State University, studying business. Amanda also worked for Home Federal Credit Union. She was moved to Boise, where she assisted in opening a new branch. In 2004, she married Zac Julian, and they moved to Sandpoint, Idaho. Amanda and Zac later divorced. Amanda stayed in Sandpoint, where she fell in love with the people, the beauty of the area and the lakes.

She worked for Potlatch Credit Union and later for Taylor and Sons in finance. Amanda was a whiz at her job. In Sandpoint, she met the love of her life, William (Billy) Hiatt, in 2010, and they were married May 30, 2011.

Amanda loved Garfield Bay, Lake Pend Oreille, being on the boat, and just watching the water. She also loved her family, "mani/pedi" days, traveling, sushi, and spending time with Billy. While living in Sandpoint, she was very supportive of community events. She was always there to help someone in need, sometimes even inviting them into their home if need be.

Amanda fought a long, hard battle after her fall, and because of that, she had to have brain surgery. In the fall of 2022, she and Billy decided to move to Surprise and see where life took them. Amanda loved the warmer weather there.

Amanda is survived by her husband, Billy; kids, William (Tres), Hunter, Cooper, and Grace Hiatt; parents, David and Paulette Inskeep, Heidi (Brett) Suthers, Clinton (Gwen) Inskeep and Trento (Rosa) Inskeep; in-laws, Bill and Linda Hiatt, Tamra Hiatt and Wendy (Steven) Hawks; aunts and uncles; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will always be loved and missed.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 13, 2023, at the Northwoods Tavern and Grill, 461 Deep Creek Loop, Naples, Idaho. (Bring lawn chairs.)
