Michael Charles Munn, 65

| August 9, 2023 1:00 AM

Michael Charles Munn, 65, born in San Francisco, died in Hope, Idaho, on June 25, 2023.

The memorial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023, at Cedar Hills Church in Sandpoint, Idaho. Come as you are! No fancy or black attire. Just dress as you normally do! We’ll be celebrating his life lived!

Mike loved the outdoors. You could find him being active in nature year-round. He loved hiking, biking, motorcycle riding, skiing, boating, fishing and camping. He was the happiest when he was outside, breathing the air, with his heart pumping, and walking with God. He was a world traveler and an avid road tripper.

Mike was a computer engineer who took early retirement in order to enjoy doing all of the things that he loved, like reading, watching documentaries, working out, gardening, walking, playing guitar, and spending quality time with his wife.

Mike believed in things being right, but he knew that life wasn’t fair. He saw things as they were, and was an amazing judge of character. He could fix anything and loved flowers. Mike lived a great life and left the world better than he found it.

He was a hopeful realist, and he left a positive mark on everyone he met. He accomplished all of the goals that he set for himself in life, and he lived exactly the way that he wanted to. Mike liked to give back to his community through volunteer work and donations.

He was deeply loved by his son, Matthew; his sisters, Kiersten and Kelly; and his wife, Kimberly. He has a grandson, Dorian, whom he loved deeply.

He loved living, but he didn’t fear death and he seized every day that he could. Mike did not suffer. Esophageal cancer took him very quickly. After a month of knowing that he had cancer, he died at home, in his bed, with his wife, just as he wanted.

Mike, your wonderful, joy-filled smile, beautiful heart, and incredible presence will be missed more than words could ever express. We love you!
