Cartoons and the impact of inflation

Did you all see the political cartoon (Daily Bee, Aug. 3)? It shows a corporate executive saying, "To offset the increased cost of borrowing, we're raising prices." The housewife saying, "The rising cost of goods and services is brutal on us." And the Fed saying, "We must raise interest rates to rein in inflation.”
All this while we consumers, using our third grade math, were wondering, how can raising interest rates, making it more expensive to produce a product, curb inflation?
Have you noticed that a can of Folgers coffee, which once cost $5 or $6, is now $13? Four percent inflation, you betcha!
