STCU gives $50K for wildfire relief

| August 22, 2023 1:00 AM

The Here for Good Foundation, STCU’s charitable foundation, is encouraging donations to support communities impacted by recent wildfires in the Inland Northwest.

All donations are tax deductible and will support rebuild and recovery efforts in local communities, credit union officials said.

The credit union made a $50,000 contribution at innovia.org/stcu-here-for-good-foundation.

“The various fires impacting our region are devastating to watch unfold,” STCU’s chief marketing officer Marty Dickinson said. “The Here for Good Foundation was established to help respond to critical needs in the communities we serve. Seven months after our foundation’s launch, we are mobilized and ready to make good on that promise.”

STCU also partnered with the Innovia Foundation, Premera Blue Cross and Washington Trust Bank.

“As a region, we have a history of coming together to take care of each other. Innovia was quick to stand up to a wildfire emergency response fund for Eastern Washington,” Innovia Chief Executive Officer Shelly O’Quinn said.

O'Quinn said the emergency fund will provide an opportunity for "neighbors to help neighbors and provide resources that will be needed now and in the future as our communities recover from the impacts of these devastating fires.”

STCU launched the Here for Good Foundation in January with a $1 million endowment with a goal to grow to $10 million within 10 years. The foundation is administered by Innovia Foundation, which serves 20 counties in Eastern Washington and North Idaho. Innovia manages 800 charitable funds established on behalf of individuals and organizations looking to create charitable legacies for the causes and organizations they love.
