Melvin Leslie Harbison Jr., 64

On Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023, Melvin Leslie Harbison Jr., 64, of Athol, Idaho, passed away at Kootenai Medical Center, surrounded by loved ones.

He was born at Kirkland Hospital in Washington to Melvin and Vera (Pomerinke) Harbison on Sept. 19, 1958.

Melvin loved the outdoors and doing mechanical work and maintenance, and most of the time, he was accompanied by one or more of his dogs. He was a kind-hearted man who could tell stories and entertain for hours. Hunting, fishing and mining were a big part of his life.

He joins his parents, Melvin Harbison Sr. and Vera, and one of his sisters, Evelyn Griffin.

He is lived on through his siblings, Bob Harbison (Myrt), Pauline Seekins, Larry Harbison (Mary), Danny Harbison, Linda Harbison, Lauretta Deaver (Fory) and Cindy Lippencott; his daughter, Megan Harbison (Thomas Hoisington Jr.); and a handful of grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, 2023, at Round Lake Pavilion, 1880 Dufort Road, Sagle, Idaho 83860. A potluck dish would be greatly appreciated.
