Here's to Sandpoint's next 20 years

I would like to give kudos to Kate McAlister, Shelby Rongstad, and Jennifer Stapleton for taking their time on a beautiful August Saturday to explain the Downtown Waterfront Design Competition for the future Urban Renewal Development Plan regarding Sand Creek, City Beach, and parts of the downtown.

Thank you for explaining that this is early in the planning stage, and at this point, they are concepts and ideas for our town's future. Each of the designs has positive ideas. Some should be implemented, some may be implemented, and some are dream works. But you’ve got to start with a plan and good concepts.

Thank you for also explaining, Shelby, about the expiration of the 20-year-old URDP and the start of the new one that will encompass the funding for these future projects.
