Family celebrates five generations

Five generations of a Bonner County family recently gathered to celebrate.

A 2023 celebration included Loretta M. (Williams) Miller, 93, the great-great-grandmother of the family. Now a Priest River resident for the past 19 years, Miller was born in Emida, Idaho, and Sheryl A. (Miller) Lutz, great-grandmother, who was born in Spokane, and is now a full-time RV explorer.

Also celebrating were Shannon L. (Haeder) Vaughn, grandmother, who was born in Spokane, lived in western Washington, and has lived in Priest River for the past eight years.

In addition, celebrating were Sierra J. Vaughn, 20, born in Auburn, Wash., and who has lived in Priest River for the past eight years. Her daughter, Madelynn R. Lindsey, 1, was born in Sandpoint and lives in Priest River.

The family also celebrated five generations in 1974, when those gathered included great-great-grandmother Edna Louise (Bailor) Griffith, 93, of Osaki, Minn.; great-grandmother Edna Mae (Griffith) Williams, 67, who was born in Rathdrum, Idaho; grandmother Loretta M. (Williams) Miller, who was born in Emida; Sheryl A. Miller, 18, who was born in Spokane; mother Sheryl A. (Miller) Lutz; and Shannon L. (Haeder) Vaughn, then 2 years old.
