Get Idaho back on track, support open primaries

The word salad coming from the Idaho Freedom Foundation, and those that are associated with it contain all the buzzwords to get people riled up. Look out, they say; a leftist-funded machine has snuck into North Idaho and is here to destroy us. Starting with the recall election in WBCSD. Words like woke, BLM, leftist extremists, donkeys, and radicals — all put there to scare people into thinking there is some nefarious outside force coming in to take over.

They are right. That force has arrived: the Idaho Freedom Foundation and their ilk. The IFF's behavior in the WBCSD has been the epitome of cronyism, corruption, destructive, and dishonest behavior. There seems to be no end to what they are willing to do to destroy a school district.

I am a lifelong resident, WBCSD-educated, and registered Republican. Frankly, I am embarrassed at how asleep at the wheel I was while all of this has been transpiring. But no longer.

Many of us have awoken and came together in a bipartisan way to run a recall election to save our school district. This group of hometown folks, all ages and walks of life, put aside their political differences and are gathering steam to stop this takeover. We sit shoulder to shoulder, unified by the concern of our children, educators, staff, and people who call this area home.

Please support open primaries. Get Idaho back on track and away from the true billionaire-backed outside forces that are threatening our way of life. Wake up to what is happening here.
