Now versus then, a veteran's perspective
Then versus now as it relates to the war between Palestine and Israel.
We, as Vietnam veterans, knew that we were fighting an unpopular war. And when we returned, some were actually spit upon. Most veterans, including myself, didn't ever even mention that we were Vietnam vets.
People demonstrated against the war across the United States, but they did not root for the enemy, the Viet Cong, or the North Vietnamese Army.
But currently, we have these college students all over the country demonstrating against Israel and rooting for the Hamas military. It was Hamas from Palestine that invaded Israel and started this. Many Palestinians don't like Hamas, but they keep quiet about it. It is time for them to rebel against Hamas. It is absolutely disgusting that these demonstrations are taking place in the U.S. on college campuses.
If I were president, I would deport all of these non-U.S. citizens who are demonstrating immediately. Germany is now deporting some of them. But our government doesn't have the courage to do anything about it. It is a sad state of affairs in America.
We are in a moral and social decline in the U.S., and this is an example. I ask: What does the future hold for our young people? Keep in mind that these stupid demonstrators could be our leaders in the future. Heaven forbid.
