PREP WRESTLING: Sandpoint, Bonners Ferry girls tie for 1st at George Wild Invite

KELLOGG – Sandpoint’s Emma Garman (120) and Izzy Stark (126) won individual titles at the George Wild Invite to help the Bulldogs tie Bonners Ferry for first place on Saturday.
Junior Emma Garman pinned Jayden Ocain of Clearwater Valley (0:49) and Bonners Ferry’s Ireland Grady (0:52) in the championship match in order to secure gold.
Freshman Izzy Stark pinned all three of her opponents on Saturday. In the first round, she pinned Alexandrea Schroeder of Lakeland (1:48); in the second round, Sammie Slyter of Lewiston (2:06); and in the championship match, Keira Zimmerman of Moscow (2:51). Stark was also named the 2023 George Wild Tournament’s most outstanding wrestler.
