Winter ecology class announced

Area residents are invited to take part in an outdoor education program on winter ecology next weekend.

Set for Saturday, Dec. 16, from 9 a.m. MST to 3 p.m. The group will meet for a short introductory session in the Viking Room of the Venture Inn, 1015 U.S. 2, in Libby, Mont. The group will discuss the basics of tracking, tree and plant identification, and winter birding for about 40 minutes. The group will then head to several field sites of diverse habitats to study the science and art of animal and bird tracking and sign interpretation; evergreen tree and plant identification; and winter birding. 

All Participants must register to attend. Please come prepared for a day in the field. This is an adults-only program and no pets are allowed.
