Dec. 12, 1973 – 4-H COUNTY AWARDS

Receiving county award medals at the Kootenai Klover 4-H Klub’s achievement program were Linda Murray – achievement, leadership, photography, clothing, citizenship, and dress revue; Mark Murray – entomology and photography; David Hamann, Penny Barfuss and Donna Hamann – food preservation; Steve Neuder and Jane Travers – photography; Jackie Meneely – style revue. Earning county award medals at the Wrencoe Brush Rats’ achievement program were Carolyn Bonser – horse; Peggy Cramer and Edith Nappi – vet science.

THEATRE PRESENTS ORIGINAL PLAY

The Sandpoint Actors and Playwrights Theater are at it again. Robin Ducrest is applying his directing talents to a children’s play, “A Gift from the Snow,” written by local playwright Gloria Miller. The cast includes Jody Brown, Chip Dawkins, Daniele Huguenin, Marilyn Lavin, Kristi Gill, Chris Pietsch, Julie Swendig, Tina Gustavason, Donna Eaton, Mary Easton, Joe Ilhy, Tracy Jones, and Jeri Self.

McCAULLEY AT MOUNTAIN HOME

Airman Richard McCaulley, a 1971 SHS graduate and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman McCaulley, Rte. 1, Sandpoint, graduated at Lowry AFB, Colo., from the U.S. Air Force weapons mechanic course of the Air Training Command. Airman McCaulley is assigned to Mountain Home AFB, Idaho.

Dec. 12, 1948 – HAS BIRTHDAY DINNER

Karen Becker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Becker, celebrated her 12th birthday Saturday with a group of friends. After a lovely dinner served at a large table with a Christmas centerpiece, the group went to the show. Guests were Penny Nelson, Irene and Patty West, Jane Sauer, Cara Lee Hupp, Carol Brunsell, Sonja Bond, Donna Gail Waring, Loyce Hall, Adrienne Howell, Jo-Ellen Walker, Phyllis Bricker, and Peggy Jo Anderson.

NOTICE TO PARENTS!

See to it that your children under 18 years are off the streets by 10:30 p.m.  Beginning immediately the city curfew ordinance will be strictly enforced, providing that parents or guardians of children under 18 are responsible and can be fined up to $100 or given 60 days in jail if their children violate the law.

CHRISTMAS CANTATA IS FRIDAY

The community Christmas cantata, “Star in the East,” will be presented Friday at 8 p.m. at the high school auditorium, sponsored by the Sandpoint Jay-C-Ettes. The cantata is directed by Mrs. F.B. Evans and accompanied by Mrs. L.E. Pietsch and Miss Margaret Thomason, on piano and organ. Soloists are Mrs. Dennis Racicot, Mrs. Victor Holm, Miss Edith Jennestad, Mrs. Jay Witt, Mrs. Walter Holz, Mrs. D.W. Richards, J.P. Greenleaf, W.F. Chichester, W.A. Brunsell, L.E. Bockelman and Rev. Ivan Brown. Admission is free to all.
