SANDPOINT — The Bonner County Treasurer’s Office would like to remind taxpayers that the first half of their 2023 property taxes are due by Dec. 20.

A payment drop box is available for residents who wish to pay their property taxes via check, located outside the Bonner County Administration Building. This drop box is monitored by video surveillance around the clock for security.

“The drop box is for check payments only and your payment coupons must be included with your payment,” said county Treasurer Clorrisa Koster.

If residents do not have their coupons, Koster said they can reference the parcel numbers on their check.

Payments that are being mailed must be postmarked by Dec. 20 to avoid additional fees and should be sent to the treasurer’s office at 1500 Highway 2, Suite 304, Sandpoint. Payments can also be made online or through the office using a credit card, debit card or an electronic check. Processing fees will apply to those forms of payment, the treasurer said.

“For first half payments that are not paid by the deadline, per Idaho Code, a 2% late fee will be assessed and interest will begin at 1% a month starting Jan. 1,” Koster said. “If you are unable to pay the full amount due, any amount that you can pay prior to Dec. 20 will help reduce the amount of interest charges. If you have a mobile home that is assessed as personal property and you are unable to pay the first half payment by Dec. 20, please contact our office before Dec. 20 to see about a mobile home extension.”

Koster said anyone with questions about their property taxes is encouraged to call the office at 208-265-1433 to avoid late fees.

The Bonner County Treasurer’s Office is located in the Bonner County Administration Building at 1500 Highway 2, Suite 304 in Sandpoint and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
