Priest River celebrates Christmas on Main Street
Christmas on Main Street brought the holiday season to Priest River on Dec. 4.
The annual event is sponsored by the Odd Fellows Lodge and the Priest River Youth Connections. In addition to a movie theater, the Priest River High School band played Christmas songs.
In addition, Billy Mullaley said the event hosted a hot chocolate bar, a cake walk and a selfie photo booth.
"I would like to thank the community for such a great turnout," Mullaley said. "We also had the West Bonner County School District handing out goodies that were donated to them."
Capping off the fun was a visit from Santa, who stopped in at the Priest River Library to hear from local youth.
Lou's Place and Jammers donated sleds for the drawings and Happy Agers and Lou's Place, along with a great group from a Bible study, donated goodies for the cake walk.
The movies were made possible thanks to the Newport Roxy Theater, which loaned Christmas on Main Street officials the theater's portable movie system.
The community's youth also deserve major kudos for being a part of the event, Mullaley said. The Spartan wrestling team helped clean up, and the Priest River Lamanna High School cheer team ran outside booths, the Spartan music department and two high school students ran the hot chocolate bar.
Community members, Odd Fellows, and PRYC members all made this Christmas on Main Street one of the best ones yet.
"I want to thank all that were so helpful in getting this put together," Mullaley said. "Without the help from the Priest River Youth Connections and the Odd Fellows Lodge, this party would have never happen. Thank you and Merry Christmas to all."
