Bridges Home holding Christmas concert

| December 16, 2023 1:00 AM

Memorial Community Center is hosting Tami and Dave Gunter, widely known as the popular musical duo of “Bridges Home,” at a free Christmas concert today.

The concert will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the center, 415 Wellington Place, Hope.

Bridges Home is Tami and Dave Gunter — dual lead vocalists and multi-instrumentalists who share roots-based originals, Celtic and Americana music with audiences in venues that range from intimate, small town theaters to large festival stages.

In concert, they deliver a captivating array of musical styles: high-energy celtic, old-time and bluegrass; lowdown delta blues; foot-stomping Americana and roots music; haunting Irish ballads and finely crafted instrumentals. Instruments played include tenor ukulele, clawhammer banjo, Celtic harp, accordion, mandolin and octave mandolin, acoustic guitar, resonator slide guitar, cigar box guitar, Irish whistles, bodhran, stompbox and washboard. With their popular transition to festival shows and theater concerts, Bridges Home has placed a new emphasis on audience-pleasing originals and the stories that inspired them.

The Memorial Community Center is located at 415 Wellington Place in Hope. Among the programs hosted at the center are the Hope Preschool, High School Scholarship Program, and Christmas Giving Program; as well as providing a community space for local groups and clubs at an affordable rate.
