LEWISTON – Freshman Derrick Chamberlain, who had a team-high 13 points for Sandpoint, was the only Bulldog to reach double-figures in Sandpoint’s 72-51 loss to Lewiston on Saturday.
With 5:29 remaining in the second quarter, sophomore Logan Roos hit one of his two three-pointers to keep the Bulldogs within reach, 26-25. However, the Bengals went on a 14-5 run to end the half and carried that momentum with them throughout the rest of the contest.
Wil Leisy added a season-high six points for the Bulldogs in Saturday’s loss. Chamberlain also had 11 rebounds and five blocks on the night.
“[Lewiston] was a very physical/athletic team as well as an experienced team,” head coach Brian Childs said. “We played well in spurts and showed many bright spots overall tonight.”
Lewiston’s Jordan Walker had 17 points, which included five three-pointers for the Bengals.
Sandpoint (3-4) will travel to Kellogg on Wednesday to take on the Wildcats.
