JR. HIGH WRESTLING: Sandpoint finishes fourth at middle school state championship

NAMPA — The Sandpoint Legacy Wrestling Club had five wrestlers – Dalton Regehr, Daniel Holman, John Holman, Gage Martin, and Summer Birch – who placed among the top five in their respective weight divisions at the Idaho Middle School State Championships held at the Ford Idaho Center this past Saturday.

Summer reached the state championship match after winning three straight matches – two via decision (Murphee Balich, Lakes, 5-4 and Airianna Ayala, Taylorview, 3-2) and one via major decision (Maritza Medina, Syringa, 9-1). She finished second out of 21 wrestlers in her weight class.
