Local physician receives certification in obesity medicine
Newport Hospital and Health Services has announced that Dr. Taylor Stewart has received board certification for the American Board of Obesity Medicine, adding to her family medicine credentials.
According to ABOM, this certification "signifies specialized knowledge in the practice of obesity medicine and distinguishes a physician as having achieved competency in obesity care."
Stewart said, "I'm excited to have the additional training to expand my skillset to help partner with patients in care for weight management and the disease conditions caused by obesity."
Dr. Stewart started her practice at Newport Health Center earlier this fall. In addition to family medicine and the recent obesity medicine certification, Dr. Stewart has also completed a fellowship in surgical obstetrics.
