PREP NOTES: Bonner and Boundary County teams polling amongst top in state

– Sandpoint girls basketball is currently ranked as the No.2 4A team in the state. Shelley, who Sandpoint defeated last year in the state championship, is polling at No.1 and is receiving all seven first-place votes. 

TOP 5: 1, Shelley (7), 10-0 (3-0); 2, Sandpoint, 8-1 (3-0); 3, Bishop Kelly, 8-1 (4-0); 4, Skyline 8-1 (2-0); 5, Jerome, 11-3 (5-1).

Also receiving votes: Minico, Pocatello, Blackfoot.

– Clark Fork boys basketball is receiving votes as one of the top 1A D2 teams in the state.

TOP 5: 1, Camas County (5), 7-1 (3-0); 2, Kendrick (6), 6-0 (4-0); 3, Rockland, 5-3 (0-0); 4, Dietrich, 5-2 (0-0); 5, Cascade, 7-2 (2-0).

Also receiving votes: Watersprings, Garden Valley, Horseshoe Bend, Clark Fork.

– Shane Sherrill, Andrew Duke of Sandpoint boys wrestling ranked among the top in the state. In 4A, Sherrill is currently ranked fourth at 138 pounds; Duke is sixth at 126 pounds.

– Colm and Caeden McLaimtaig of Priest River boys wrestling are ranked among the top in the state. In 2A/1A, Caeden is currently ranked second at 152 pounds; Colm is fourth at 138 pounds.
