Patrons' generosity helps library help others

If you stopped by the library this season, you likely saw the annual food drive collection box resting at its new home in the lobby. Everything collected in this box ends up in the hands of those who need its contents the most. The bulk of the donations end up at the food bank, but it’s not uncommon for someone to take a vital item from the box directly when they need it.

This year, the library chose to keep the box in the lobby to make it easier for generous hearts in our community to give, and those who may be struggling to receive with fewer barriers between them. For many, the selfless act of anonymously giving is thanks enough; however, it always feels good to know what kind of an impact you made.

This year, your generosity has provided over 50 pounds of food and supplies. At the time of writing, three large milk crates that were stuffed full of food, hygienic supplies and love were delivered to the Bonner Community Food Bank. If you didn’t know about the annual food drive, there is still time to drop food or supplies off at the Sandpoint library or directly to the food bank.
