County officials set resolutions
SANDPOINT — The ball in New York is getting ready to drop and as people around the world prepare for the new year, a few Bonner County employees are looking ahead to 2024.
Bonner County operations manager Jessi Reinbold said she is trying to be more present in the moment rather than getting distracted by other responsibilities.
“I think oftentimes we get caught up in everything we have going on at work or elsewhere and do not appreciate or truly participate in what's happening in the moment,” she said.
County clerk Mike Rosedale said he has New Year’s resolutions for both Bonner County and for himself.
“My prayer for Bonner County is for the strife at the top to cease, and that we can be a rock-solid, united county again — both sides of the political aisle, top to bottom, north to south, east to west,” he said. “My personal resolution is to pray for our county like never before, and I invite all Bonner County to join me. I know many of you already are.”
Deputy clerk Alisa Schoeffel said she doesn’t usually make New Year’s resolutions as she usually abandons them pretty early into the year. Because of that, she tries to make changes to her life throughout the year, whenever she feels change is necessary.
County planner Jake Gabell shared his resolutions as well, also having personal and county plans.
“Work-related: Get the planning department office cleaned up and organized,” Gabell said. “Over the frenzy of the past few years, the planning office space has accumulated a lot of stuff. It's my goal to organize the space we have and present it as a more clean and professional environment. Personally, get more time on the slopes, skiing with my kids.”
The Bonner County Administration Building will be closed Monday, Jan. 1, in observance of New Year’s Day. It will resume regular business hours Tuesday, Jan. 2.
