Teen wins essay contest, scholarship

Each year during the Senior Finance Fair, the Selkirk Association of Realtors sponsors an essay contest asking students who attended to share three things they learned by participating in the fair.
This year’s winner was Jack Landon, who submitted a whimsical and thoughtful essay on how “pricey” raiding kids can be to how expensive groceries and household items are. His takeaways earned him a $500 scholarship to help toward his college experience.
