SANDPOINT — 2023’s clock is ticking down and one commissioner said he is looking forward to everything the new year will hold.

Bonner County Commissioner Luke Omodt is optimistic about 2024 being the year for Bonner County — and many are hoping he’s right. While turmoil and arguments clouded over 2023, Omodt is hopeful that the new year will bring healing to the county.

“All fortunate enough to call this place home are truly blessed,” the commissioner said.

Omodt said his personal New Year’s resolution is to strive for a healthier life — both in the workplace and in his off time.

“This first year in office has taught me how rough and tumble local politics can be,” he said. “I  resolve to keep the politics in perspective and focus on what is important, serving the residents and visitors of Bonner County with common sense and fiscal accountability.”

Commissioners Asia Williams and Steve Bradshaw did not respond to multiple requests for comment.
